Well, we finally reached what would have been our official (although extended) closing date of April 12th. With the early closure of Colorado ski areas in mid-March, we did miss out on 29 days of skiing/riding along with awesome spring events like Kayaks on Snow. Despite the early closure, Monarch Mountain was open for 119 days of ski area operations over a 135 day period (Nov 1-Mar 14). We were also able to host many great events including the New Years’ fireworks & torchlight parade, Town Challenge, Backcountry Day, Telefestivus, and the IFSA Freestyle Event. While we all continue to shelter in place and navigate our new routines, at least we have reached the official calendar date where the ski area would have been closed anyway. Time to tackle those spring projects at home. Stay well.
