Serendipity

Serendipity- “the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way”.

This is exactly what occurred last summer during the first phase of the Monarch Pass Vegetation Management Project. During the thinning of tree islands, a high quality, lower angle tree run was created. The glades between Sleepy Hollow and Tenderfoot turned out to be a popular route used by both our staff and guests last winter. This trail will now be featured on the 2019-20 trail map as “Serendipity”.

The Slope Maintenance Crew has been working on cleaning up some of the debris and rocks in this area to prep it for an earlier opening date in the ski season and to allow some intermittent grooming on the trail. Any grooming performed would just be a snowcat width or two through the glades to allow beginner skiers to more easily access this area. The remainder of the glades will be left in a natural state during the winter months. Some other fun elements for kids may be added to this area in the coming months as this project unfolds verkkosivu.
