To us, "Monarch Country" is an all-encompassing appreciation for the ski towns that lay in our surrounding valleys and the people who call them home. Our roots run deep here; extending as far as Pueblo. From Gunnison to Buena Vista, Salida to Colorado Springs and everywhere in between, we would like this to be recognized as one community, bonded by our love for the mountains and the snow and water provided by them.
We are all connected. We are one. We are Monarch Country.
We are proud to be your local mountain. Thank you for your support.
At the base of Monarch Pass lays our hometown, Salida. Shaped by rivers and railroads, the town is home to a thriving creative district, restaurants, shops and of course, the Arkansas River. Outdoor activities are plentiful and year-round, and the scenery is breathtaking. Monarch Mountain and Salida are married to each other naturally. The snow we all enjoy in the winter, becomes the water we play in all summer. It's a beautiful cycle we love every year.
The lovely part of Salida is that it is not just a ski town...It is a wonderful functioning town that is blessed with an incredible ski mountain 20 minutes away.
Renowned for its Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Area, boasting some of the highest peaks in Colorado, Buena Vista has access to endless outdoor activities. From climbing to rafting, you can do it all here. Feel like relaxing? Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is minutes away.
A small but energetic town supported by a productive farming and ranching community. The town is made up of boutique shops, staple restaurants, craft breweries and Western Colorado University. Only 48 mins away, our neighbors to the West are greatly appreciated.
Below one of the most renowned peaks in Colorado, Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs is Monarch Mountain's highest concentration of support. The city is our main hub for people coming and going from the ski area. Aside from its spectacular scenery, "The Springs" hosts every variety of city life and recreational activity.
Further down the Arkansas River, sits the booming historic town of Pueblo. Over recent years, the town has evolved, attracting a diverse population from all over the world. With a unique local culture, a thriving art community and outdoor enthusiasm, it's apparent why Pueblo has become a popular destination for many.
