MCS Projects

Earlier this week, several members of the USFS Salida Ranger District and Monarch Mountain staff hiked out to the MCS (Monarch Cat Skiing) permitted terrain to review potential projects. There are a couple of spots that need to be widened a bit to better accommodate the snowcat. A short over the snow road spur is also being reviewed that would provide easier access to a portion of our Outfitter and Guide permitted terrain. Both of these projects would primarily involve taking out beetle infested spruce trees within the MPVMP (Monarch Pass Vegetation Management Project) area.
