Gunbarrel Trees

As part of the vegetation management project this fall, we also thinned out the Gunbarrel Trees.  This is the tree island in between Gunbarrel and Tele Alley.  Once again, we focused on clearing the large, dead standing spruce trees from this stand  You can see how much healthier it looks with the dead trees removed compared to adjacent stand to the left and Monarch Ridge in the background.  While these trees already had some really great skiing, there were some areas that were open up top but then would tighten up about halfway down.  There should be a lot more clean lines to go around this winter.
