As most of you have hopefully recognized over the last few seasons, we have been putting in a significant effort on improving our grooming on the mountain. This has included additional investments on machines, significant time by our Vehicle Maintenance staff maintaining and repairing these snowcats, more training of our staff and many more hours per night by our Slope Maintenance crew. This crew regularly grooms more than 50% of our named trails on a nightly basis working from 11pm-9am. Several of these trails see a half groom as described in this post. I particularly hear a lot of positive feedback on these specific trails.

We have continued to add machines as described in a few earlier posts including this one and on this post. Our fleet is made up almost entirely of Prinoth snowcats except for our back-up tour cat (which is technically a Bombardier cat – Bombardier was acquired by Prinoth in 2005).

This week we brought in a Pisten Bully winch cat to demo. The cat appeared to leave a slightly different product with deeper grooming and a firmer corduroy surface.
