The Slope Maintenance Department is utilizing a tub grinder to chip the slash piles that were created during the first phase of the Monarch Pass Vegetation Management Project.  (This photo was taken before the bulk of this weeks’ snow) schau dir das jetzt an.  The grinder is a beast of a machine that uses metal teeth to crush the wood into chips that can be spread around on disturbed areas.  This process returns biomass back to these areas, helps to stabilize soils and assists in re-vegetation efforts.
