Staff from the USFS Salida Ranger District visited Monarch today. We explored the gladed tree islands that were treated last summer during the first phase of the Monarch Pass Vegetation Management Project. The thinned areas have been seeing increased skier/rider traffic and we have received a lot of positive feedback during the ski season about these zones. We are a few weeks into our discussion on Phase II of the Project scheduled for this summer. Targeted areas are still being prioritized. Stay tuned for details.
