Flying Timber

Timber removal operations are underway.  We have been utilizing the helicopter to remove beetle killed trees from the Panorama ridgeline.  The Huey has been hauling between two and six trees per turn based on the size and weight of the trees.  The bird can make each turn in about two minutes and needs to refuel about every hour or so.  Mornings have been good thus far with the afternoon bringing in a few weather factors to deal with.  A reminder to all that being around these activities is hazardous and the mountain is closed to public hiking at this time.
