The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) project is underway. As discussed in an earlier post, preparation work is now taking place for the avalanche mitigation construction project above the Big Slide avalanche path. Crews have conducted tree cutting and rock scaling at the installation sites for the Gazflex Exploders. An access trail has also been cleared to allow workers and equipment to more easily reach the job site. This road will also access the housing shelter for future annual maintenance.
