Cat Skiing Day

I was out on the cat today along with some MCS guests, our local USFS representatives and several Monarch employees.  The Salida Ranger District manages the special use permit for our cat skiing program and get out at least once a season to check out the operation.  We have a “stand by” employee rate for cat skiing if there are available seats.  Today was their lucky day and we had a few jump on the opportunity and sign up.

Conditions were sunny and warm with zero wind.  We had a few inches of snow in the last 72 hours along with some transport snow that dished out some pretty sweet turns.  The afternoon brought in clouds and more snow.  Never a dull moment in Colorado.
