Check out what people are saying about Monarch Mountain:

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your offering free skiing to us old people. By the Grace of God I am still skiing at age 80, skiied 5 days this season at your wonderful ski hill, having first skiied there in the 1960's. I look forward to another great season next year. And by the way, I brought a paying customer with me each time -- and always enjoy the cheeseburgers. THANK YOU!

Jim Strub - Colorado Springs, CO

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful job you all are doing.  We chose your pass for our family trip, we were all first time skiers.  I was more than impressed with all the excellent service we received.  My 5 year old who has never attended any type of childcare went into your child care and had so much fun she wanted to go back the next day, to see her buddy Bones.  I also had two children in the JR clinic they both had a very positive experience, while my husband and I had a semi private lesson with Rick who was more than patient with us and encouraging.  Employees were also very welcoming and eager to help us if we needed it.  Even the lift personel went out of their way to help me with the little one to get on and off the lift.  I could not have asked for a better first time experience.  Thank you.

Thanks for an awesome visit! I want to personally thank Monarch and our guides Chad and Kelly for an awesome day of Cat Skiing.  It is a credit to Monarch and the type of experience you want patrons to have when you honored our cat reservation even though we were the only two guys to show up that day. (Thurs.3/2/06) The guides were safe, knowledgeable and lots of fun.  The terrain is perfect, challenging and allows for quick access back to  the top.  I have researched almost every cat operation in the country and I don`t think any\ other place beats Monarch for price, terrain and overall quality of experience.  I have tried many larger resorts but few can compare to the simple beauty of Monarch.  It just goes to show that being the biggest, or having the most hotels doesn`t mean a hill of beans.  If snow, value and high quality skiing is the goal Monarch ranks up near the top.  I have never had a better experience for my money on snow, PERIOD!  I want you to know I am recommending Monarch to all of my ski buddies in PA.  We want to make sure the record for most runs in a day from a CO cat stays with hearty eastern skiers! (Kidding)  Keep up the great work and hopefully I can visit again very soon.  Also please pass this along to Kelly and Chad they were excellent and really made the day special.

"I wanted to say that Monarch is one of Colorados` best kept secrets. I have been to almost every other ski resort in CO. For the last five years my buddy and I have been driving up from Dallas,TX to ski at monarch for a few days. Every year has been spectacular and I hope Monarch stays a secret, despite the fact that I tell everyone I know".

Superb experience enjoyed at Monarch

Dear Editor:
We are so very fortunate to have Monarch as our hometown ski area. On Saturday, a spectacular powder day, I was skiing with my 6-year-old son when he lost his ski. Who should turn up to help me find his ski but the general manager and part owner himself, Rich Moorhead. Mr. Moorhead spent more than 45 minutes of his time patiently searching for my son’s ski with me. Thank you for your kindness.

The Ski Patrol was also very professional and courteous helping my son down the hill and taking great care of him while we searched for his ski. This kind of personal customer service and kindness is endemic of the Monarch experience.

Come experience it yourself – the ski conditions are fantastic and the customer service is superb.

Charlie Rahe, Salida

“It’s 11:30 a.m. Mid-January.  Twenty-six inches of fresh powder, and the parking lot is practically empty... I guess some people just like busy, expensive ski resorts."

John, frequent guest from Colorado Springs

"My best day was over Thanksgiving weekend which turned out to be a particularly sick powder day at Monarch. It snowed all day and we had to dig the car out just to leave the parking lot."

Nicole, 04-05' Gems Card winner from Boulder

"Monarch Powder Cat services 900 acres, all of which are just outside the Monarch ski area boundary.  But Monarch Powder Cat proves the old adage that looks can be deceiving.  The terrain is steep, the snow falls in copious amounts and the attitude is laid back, which is why FREESKIER tries to fill one of their cats with a bunch of pros every winter for an epic day"

Freeskier Magazine, Nov 05

“One of my fondest memories is riding the Panorama lift on a Tuesday morning; it snowed eighteen inches the night before.  Looking in front of me there was no one, looking behind me there was no one, below me was untracked.  I thought to myself, this is great!”

Ryan from Salida

“I ski other resorts, but the snow is better here.  Today, it’s great.  It’s as simple as that”

Corey, Gunnison

“The snow is ALWAYS good and usually great. We've had powder days at Monarch that rank among our best days of skiing anywhere. Plus, it's so uncrowded that you can still find powder on the runs well into the afternoon. Simply put, Monarch is the best ski area for families we've ever been to.”

Rex, Colorado Springs

“I spent one day at monarch last spring in April and had the best skiing day of my life. There were maybe 100 people on the whole mountain, 18 inches of new snow, and good terrain. We spent most of the day hitting runs under the Garfield lift, Ajax and Kannonen have some really good tree runs. Awesome ski mountain.”

Bradley, Virginia Beach

“Monarch is truly one of those hidden secrets. Located at an altitude that make snow making unnecessary... hence the 100% Natural! used in the marketing, this area brings you back to the days when skiing was a family activity and affordable. Imagine a three day ski package that costs less than $150 per person including lodging, breakfast and lift ticket. Now that's a value.”
