Youth, adult, alpine, snowboarding, telemark, bumps, powder, free riding, single and multi-day…Monarch is offering it all this year. Pick the program that’s just right for you and we’ll help take your mountain experience to the next level.

Youth Programs

Our seasonal youth programs are for 3-15 year olds and are offered to skiers, snowboarders, and telemarkers. As students grow we know they’ll have a place to keep learning as they progress through our programs. There is a program for everyone in your family from your pre-schooler to your teenager and even for you. Monarch is offering adult programs in conjunction with our Wednesday Caterpillar program and our Saturday Monarch Explorers program so you can be improving your own riding while your child is skiing.

Caterpillars For skiers ages 3-4 more info & registration form

Monarch’s Caterpillars is designed for 3 and 4 year old skiers. Caterpillars is an introduction to skiing based on the reasonable expectations of three and four year olds in a small group setting. The program consists of four, hour and forty five minute sessions on Wednesdays. Instructors will work with students to explore the sport of skiing and help instill an enthusiasm for the winter play environment. We will play a lot of games and take rest and bathroom breaks as needed. Some class time may occur inside due to weather or other considerations. During these times instructors will be facilitating comfort with equipment and continued muscle memory training, through indoor movements. Students will be exposed to beginner terrain and the surface lift that they will be independently riding. A parent will need to attend and participate each day of the session. This will give the students an opportunity to experience expanded terrain and put more mileage on their skis. Throughout the program in addition to focusing and developing the child’s skills the instructor will coach parents in terrain selection, lift procedures and successful facilitation of their child’s skiing and riding experience.

Junior Butterflies For skiers or snowboarders ages 5-6 more info & registration form
Colorado Learn To ski Monarch Mountain

Monarch’s Junior Butterflies program is designed for skiers or snowboarders ages 5-6. The program consists of four, one hour and forty five minute sessions on Fridays. Instructors will work with a small group of students to explore the sport of skiing and help instill an enthusiasm for the winter play environment. This program is unique in that it is really a working relationship between the students, the parents, and the instructor. A parent will need to attend and participate each day of the session. This will allow us to ride the lift and explore more of the mountain. Throughout the program in addition to focusing and developing the child’s skills the instructor will coach parents in terrain selection, lift procedures and successful facilitation of their child’s skiing and riding experience.

Monarch Explorers For skiers, snowboarders, or telemarkers ages 7-15 more info & registration form

The Monarch Explorers program is designed for skiers and snowboarders ages 7-15. This program is about exploration and skill development. Students will be exposed to a variety of options that surround snow sports including free riding, racing, the terrain park, and all mountain adventure. The program will focus on skill development and building a foundation for further exploration while exploring the mountain.

Adult Programs

Monarch’s adult seasonal programs are offered as a four week session. You can sign up for the whole program and take advantage of the progression that comes from weekly clinics, or you can simply sign up for individual days. Each program is designed for a specific population and will help you achieve a high level of proficiency in the discipline of your choice.
Below is the registration information for the programs. Please select all the programs you would like to register for and mark the appropriate boxes. Please see attached ability level sheet to help you make an accurate assessment of your ability level. This information is needed for Monarch’s planning purposes and class assignment will be made on the first day after meeting with instructors.

Women’s Wednesdays more info and registration form

Monarch is happy to welcome back Women’s Wednesdays. These afternoon clinics are designed specifically for women and taught by some our best women instructors. These snowboard or ski clinics will cover bumps, powder, cruisers, and will help you take your riding to the next level in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Our telemark clinics have been described as a “dance party on the snow”. Come find out what all the hoopla is about. All levels of telemark skiing are welcome.

Saturday Afternoons more info and registration form
These clinics provide an avenue for you to get out on the snow and explore your own riding. Each day will focus on a different aspect of riding at Monarch from the bumps, to the trees, to the powder, to making beautiful carved turns. These clinics are offered to skiers and snowboarders who want to take advantage of Monarch’s professional instructors’ guidance and coaching to help you achieve your goals.
