The lodge is located in the small, historic gold mining town of Garfield, CO, which is located 3 miles west of Monarch Ski and Snowboard Resort. The cabin is surrounded by homes built in the 1800's, when the surrounding areas where actively mining gold and silver. So don't forget your gold pan! You can pan the stream located just steps from the cabin - see if you can find a nugget! The cabin is surrounded by public land for plenty of mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and fishing. The Colorado Trail is only 2 miles east of the lodge. Many of Colorado's highest peaks are only minutes away if you enjoy mountaineering. Many of the surrounding Forest Service trails lead to high alpine lakes with very hungry fish.
