GARNA is again partnering with Monarch Mountain and the US Forest Service Salida Ranger District to offer locals and resort guests a free on-hill ski naturalist tour. Participants will learn about the history of recreation on Monarch Pass, ski area-USFS partnership, and Monarch’s green mission. The 45 minute tour is FREE for guests and passholders.

Monarch Mountain’s Town Challenge is a FUN giant slalom race held on Freeway geared for all ability levels. This is a team race for up to six racers including men and women. The atmosphere is about having a good time, becoming a better skier or rider, and spending time on the mountain with your friends.
National Safety Month Celebration
Saturday Jan. 24 & Sunday Jan. 25 10am-3pm
A weekend of celebrating National Safety Month. Ribbons will be hidden around the mountain. The first 16 guests to find a ribbon can present it at the Season Pass Desk, recite a line of the responsibility code, and receive a prize. Safety Sam will also be on the mountain to cheer on safety. This event is free for ski area guests and open to the public. No registration necessary.

A free day of activities for kids 10 and under. Face painting, crafts, butterfly hunt, interactive snow sculptures, kids terrain park challenge, and more!
Kayaks on Snow
Saturday, Apr. 11, 2015 10am - 2pm
Monarch's signature event. Contestants race head to head, similar to Skier Cross, down a specially designed course featuring berms, banks, and bumps, ending in an icy pond! This is as fun to watch as it is to race. Great sponsors will be on hand to provide plenty of stoke for this unique event.
Closing Day Tailgate Party & Cook-off
Sunday, Apr. 12, 2015 10am - 4pm
Celebrate the end of ski season and beginning of whitewater season with our annual parking lot cook-off and tailgate party. Guests are encouraged to whip up their best eats, competing for next year's season pass among other goodies. Contestants will also be judged on decor and spirit, so spiff up your rig and come on up, snow or shine! This event continues to attract closet chefs from around the region. Bring your appetite!
