Position/Department: Guest Services Staff / Guest Services
Part- and Full-time, seasonal 
Monarch Mountain is looking for Guest Service staff to direct traffic & assist in the parking lot, assist in setting up on-mountain events, snow removal, lost & found recovery… etc. Some skiing may be necessary, but not required. Must be 21 with a valid Colo. driver’s license; must be able to work weekends and holidays; and, as always, must have excellent customer service skills.

 Terrain Park Staff / Slope Maintenance

Works with Terrain Park Coordinator to assess, open/close features in terrain parks. Ensure all signage and ropes/bamboo are in place and visible. Maintains features and transitions which includes raking, shoveling, shaping, and cat assistance from Slope Maintenance. Test features before opening them to the public. Communicates with guests and inform them of details of terrain parks. Be responsible for the machine you are operating, the project you are working and other duties assigned. Have knowledge of machine operation, daily, and during shift inspection of equipment. Identify equipment problems and operate in a conscientious, efficient and economical manner. Must be guest oriented in appearance and personality; have the ability to ride or ski the park; able to work weekends and holidays; qualified in snowmobile operations; accessible by telephone; have a strong knowledge and experience in Terrain Parks. You must also be able to perform moderately heavy lifting and shoveling (90 lbs) at high altitude. Job requires stretching, bending and shoveling.

Position/Department:  Ski Patrol Dispatch/Administrative Assistant

This is a non-skiing position. Answer all phone/radio calls coming into the Monarch Ski Patrol Dispatch. Coordinate, document, and dispatch Ski Patrol resources to respond to mountain emergencies including injuries, search and rescue, avalanche rescue, and other situations that arise. Coordinate emergency response with other Monarch departments and outside agencies. Document and provide first aid to sick and injured guests that walk into PHQ. Assist the Ski Patrol Director and Manager with administrative tasks as assigned. Maintain the PHQ facilities and assure an adequate supply of medical supplies, documents, and office supplies.

Must possess a current certification in WFR, EMT or OEC; and CPR/AED. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and able to perform clearly and precisely in pressure situations. Must be highly organized, able to work without direct supervision, and maintain confidentiality of Company and patient information. Must have excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Must be able to work at a desk/clinic workstation for long periods of time; able to lift 90+ pounds, and shovel snow and ice from PHQ entry ways at high altitude (10,800’).

Responsible for safely managing the first aid, evacuation, and transportation of sick/injured guests off the mountain. Maintain ski area trails, signage, slope closures, and permitted boundary. Complete and file appropriate documentation. Conduct avalanche hazard reduction, lift evacuations, and search and rescue operations when necessary. Position/Department:  Reservations Coordinator / Reservations

Responsible for retrieving all banks from the ticket office and setting up all reservations stations. Register guests in programs and follow will-call/ reservation procedures. Be available to arriving guests at the walk-in and the will-call desk. Complete phone reservations, and record payment. Answer phones, and follow through phone sales procedures. Assist all Reservationists with daily reports and closeout and return all banks to Ticket Office. Will be accountable for money, checks, credit card numbers, and other forms of payment. Complete all record keeping procedures.

 Must be able to accurately perform cash, check, and credit card handling and processing procedures. Must be proficient in phone sales techniques. Possess general office skills such as answering telephones, telephone and email messages Take reservations and do some filing. Should have a working knowledge of basic computer systems.

Maintenance and repair of vehicles in Monarch’s fleet. Must have previous experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, from front-end loaders to snowcats. Great communication skills and the ability to work safely and independently are a must. Valid CO Driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Must be at least 21 years old.

Position/Department: Group Sales Host/Sales

The Group Sales Host is responsible for providing guest orientation for large groups. They must be cheerful, high energy and able to project their voice in order to capture group attention. This is a customer service focused position. The group host will be the go-to person for the group from arrival on the mountain to getting them on the slopes, managing all aspects of preparing for a day of skiing. This position is part time, approximately 3 hours per day, with some Fridays through Sundays, Christmas and Spring Break being the primary work days.
